It rests on a piece of black velvet — already cut, already polished, already weighed. The setter picks it up with a pair of tweezers, turns it once, twice, and lowers it into the mounting. A breath. A press. A check under the loupe. The ring exists.

Why we began

We started Zorii in 2025 with a quiet conviction: that the way India bought diamonds was due for a rewrite.

For most of a century, the diamond trade ran on a single, unexamined promise — that beauty was rare, and rarity was expensive. We grew up in Kolkata, a city built on jewellery, and we'd seen the trade's open secret up close. The price you paid had little to do with the stone you took home. It had to do with the layers above it. Mines. Brokers. Wholesalers. Marketing budgets larger than the diamond itself.

We started Zorii to do less of all that.

What we make

Every Zorii diamond is lab-grown — Type IIA, IGI-certified, laser-inscribed. Each one is grown by Chemical Vapour Deposition over six to ten weeks in a reactor in Surat. The same crystal lattice as a mined diamond. The same hardness. The same brilliance. With one important difference: no earth was moved to make it.

Every Zorii ring is hand-set at our atelier on Camac Street — in a room where four generations of Kolkata craftsmen have been setting stones into gold. The hands haven't changed. The diamond has.

We make four things, and we make them well:

• Rings — solitaire, side-stone, Toi et Moi, trilogy, bands.
• Earrings — studs, hoops, drops, designer pieces.
• Bracelets — tennis, evening, everyday.
• Pendants — solitaire, halo, cluster, journey.

That's it. We don't have a thousand SKUs. We don't run weekly sales. We don't advertise on every billboard between here and the airport. What we have, instead, is time — for you, for the stone, for the ring you'll wear for the next forty years.

What we promise

Two things we want you to know before you buy from us.

First — we will always show you what you're paying for. Every Zorii piece on this site has its price broken out: gold weight, making charges, diamond cost, GST. Line by line. Gram by gram. No hidden margins. No mark-up theatre. When you understand a price, you trust it — and we'd rather earn a smaller margin honestly than a larger one in the dark.

Second — we will buy it back. Every Zorii piece comes with a 70% lifetime buyback. Bring it back any year, any decade, in any condition, and we'll credit you 70% of the gold and diamond value toward your next piece. A diamond should be an heirloom, not an asset trapped in a vault. If you want a different ring at fifty than you did at thirty — we'd like to help.

Today, we are a small house: one flagship at 24 Camac Street, one satellite in Asansol, one bespoke atelier where most of the magic happens.
